James J. Luensmann, 86, of Farley, Iowa, died Monday, June 11, 2012 at 5:40 p.m. at Heritage Manor in Dubuque, Iowa.
Friends and relatives of Jim may call from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, June 14, 2012 at the Reiff Funeral Home in Farley, Iowa, where a wake service will be held at 5:00 p.m.
Services for Jim will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 15, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Farley, Iowa, with Rev. Dennis Cain officiating. Burial will be held in St. Francis Cemetery in Dyersville, Iowa.
James was born November 3, 1925 in Farley, Iowa, son of Joseph C. and Emma C. (Segbers) Luensmann. He was a graduate of St. Joseph’s High School, and then attended Bayless Business College in Dubuque. Jim owned and operated Jim’s Pool Hall in Farley. He was a coaching assistant of the St. Joseph’s Baseball team in the early sixties.
He was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish in Farley and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #2001. He was an avid White Sox fan.
He is survived by one sister, Ethel Hess of Maquoketa, IA; one niece, Marilyn (Jack) Willey; and two nephews, Jack (Judy) Luensman and Tom (Kathy) Luensman.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Earl Luensman; a sister-in-law, Maxine Luensman; 5 nephews, James, Steve, Donald, Robert and Ronald Luensman.
