Obituary announcement Dateline: Farley

David John Hollenback, 58, of 14100 112th Ave, Davenport, Iowa, and formerly of Farley, Iowa, died Monday, June 11, 2012 at 7:27 p.m., at his home in Davenport.

At the request of Dave, there will be no public visitation or services. A private burial will be held at a later date. The Reiff Funeral Home in Farley, Iowa is in charge of arrangements.

Dave was born May 3, 1954 in Dubuque, Iowa, son of Andrew L. and June (Mueller) Hollenback. He received his education in the Western Dubuque schools. He was employed at Honeywell Footwear in Rock Island for 33 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing , camping, hanging out with family and friends and having good times. He had a very contagious laugh.

He especially enjoyed visiting with family and friends.

He is survived by the love of his life for 25 years, Marjorie Walton of Davenport; IA, his mother, June Hollenback of Farley, IA; ten siblings, Andrew (Bonita Mausser) Hollenback of Epworth, IA, William “Bill” (Mary Beth) Hollenback of Farley, IA, Rick (JoAnn) Hollenback of Westminster, CO, Sandy (Rick) Gotto, Peggy Kruse, and Joseph Hollenback (and friend, Pam) all of Farley, IA, Mark (Tammi) Hollenback of New Vienna, IA, Chris (Randy) Sindt of Dubuque, IA, Susie (Mike) Maahs of Dyersville, IA, and Ann (Jeff) Reddin of Blue Grass, IA; many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Andrew L. Hollenback on March 9, 2007; his maternal and paternal grandparents; a brother-in-law, Jim “Hooker” Kruse and a nephew, Jacob Hollenback.

A Special thanks to Beacon of Hope Hospice, Davenport, nurses-especially Audra. Also a very special thanks to his sister Ann and her husband Jeff Reddin and to Marjorie Walton for the excellent care they gave Dave.
