Catherine Walsh, 85, of 1775 N. Cascade Road, Peosta, Iowa, died at 6:05 p.m., Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at Manor Care Health Services in Dubuque, Iowa.

Friends and relatives of Catherine may call from 2 to 8 p.m., Friday, July 27, 2012 at the Reiff Funeral Home in Epworth, Iowa, where a wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m.

Services for Catherine will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Holy Family Catholic Church in New Melleray, Peosta, Iowa with Rev. Jerry W. Blake officiating. Burial will be held in St. Joseph’s Prairie Cemetery in rural Dubuque, Iowa.

Catherine was born July 29, 1926 in Zwingle, Iowa, daughter of William C. and Catherine F. “Rena” (Murphy) Walsh. She received her education in the Peosta area schools. She loved baking, gardening and housework.

She is survived by three sisters, Mary Ellen Walsh, Angella Walsh and Anna Marie Walsh ; and two brothers, John F. Walsh and William L. (Karen) Walsh all of Peosta, Iowa; nieces and nephews, Pat (Toni) Walsh of Platteville, WI, Cindy (Ryan) Yoder of Lone Tree, IA, Bill Walsh Jr.(and special friend, Nicole), of Dubuque, IA, Carrie Walsh of Rodchester, MN; two great nephews, Caleb and Wyatt Yoder; three great nieces, Taylor and Hannah Walsh, and Emma Frain.

She is preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers, Benedict Walsh on June 24, 1959, Francis J. Walsh in May 1949, Clement Walsh on May 18, 2006; and one sister, Anastasia M. Walsh in Nov. 1927.
