Bryce R. Wilwert, 14, of Placid, Iowa died Saturday afternoon as the results of injuries sustained in a Utility vehicle/truck accident.
Friends and relatives of Bryce may call from 2 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at the Reiff Funeral Home in Epworth, Iowa, where a wake service will be held at 8 p.m.
Services for Bryce will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 7, 2014 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Placid, Iowa, with Rev. Michael Schueller officiating, Burial will be held in St. John’s Cemetery in Placid, Iowa.
He was born February 13, 2000 in Dubuque, Iowa, son of Steve and Dawn (Hoefler) Wilwert. He is a upcoming freshman at Western Dubuque High School in Epworth, where he is a very active athlete. He is a true farm boy, and always enjoyed being outdoors and hunting. Bryce was truly a special young man, always had a smile for everyone and like to argue his view point on any and all subjects.
He is a member of St. John’s Parish in Placid, and a member of the Placid Pepper Uppers 4-H group, where he and his father restored a 4430, which is Bryce’s pride and joy.
He is survived by his parents; Steve and Dawn Wilwert of Epworth; three brothers, Brandon (& fiancé, Billie Jo) of East Dubuque, IL, Mitchel of Boulder, CO and Trevor at home; a niece and nephew, Mia and Ryker; his grandfather, John G. Hoefler of New Vienna; uncles and aunts, Doug (Nancy) Hoefler, Craig (Karen) Hoefler, Keith (Brenda) Hoefler, John J. Hoefler (partner, Andy Ferguson) all of New Vienna, Todd (Traci) Hoefler of Mechanicsville, Cheryl (Bill) Kramer of Epworth, Janet (Jack) Zalaznik of Dyersville, Sue (Jerry) Ostwinkle of Epworth, Peg Wilwert of Dubuque, and many cousins.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Norbert and Germaine (Steffen) Wilwert; his maternal grandmother, Marilyn (Funke) Hoefler and an aunt, Pam Hoefler.
