Ann E. Daly, 92, of Bankston, Iowa passed away peacefully on Monday, April 25, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family.

Friends and relatives of Ann may call from 2 to 8 p.m., Friday, April 29, 2016 at the Reiff Funeral Home in Farley, Iowa, where a wake service will be held at 1:30 p.m. and the Farley American Legion will meet in a body at 7:00 p.m. Friends may also call after 9:00 a.m., on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the Funeral Home.

Services for Ann will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 30, 2016 at St. Clements Catholic Church in Bankston, Iowa with Rev. Andrew Kelly (nephew) Presiding and Homilist Rev. Michael Schueller concelebrating Msgr. John McClean. Burial will be held in St. Clement's Cemetery in Bankston, Iowa a flag presentation afforded by the Farley American Legion Post #656.

She was born February 14, 1924 in Farley, Iowa, daughter of William J. and Mayme (Veach) Lawler her lineage being 100% Irish. She is a graduate of St. Joseph's High School in Farley, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Matthew M. Daly at Treasure Island, CA on February 14, 1947. He preceded her in death on April 17, 2016.

A saying Ann lived her life by: "There is so much bad in the best of us and so much good in the worst of us, that it little behooves any of us to speak ill of the rest of us."

Ann provided a variety of services and support to the sisters of Mercy at St. Clements and kept in touch with them over the years. She welcomed people into their home and always made sure they enjoyed themselves. Ann was often known for her wit and humor.

Her brother Jack was killed in World War II and that greatly impacted her life. This likely influenced her to become a member of the Naval Reserve of the U.S. Navy awaiting assignment to active duty. Enlisting July 26, 1945 and honorably discharged September 3, 1945. Because of this she was able to participate in the Honor flight to Washington D.C. This was her way of honoring her brother Jack as well.

She was a member of St. Clements Parish, and its Altar and Rosary Society.

She is survived by six children, Joe (Donna) Daly of Farley, IA, Dan (Ruth) Daly of Bankston, IA; Ellen Tilley of Alpharetta, GA. Mary Pat (Ben Ward) Daly of Portland Oregon, Tim (Lori) Daly of Bankston, IA and Meg Daly (Jerry Dee) of Cliffside Park, New Jersey; 16 grandchildren; Lynn (Paul) Martin, Brian (Shannon) Daly, Megan Daly, Bridget (John) Wilhelm, William (Tifani) Daly, Heather (Tim) Maiers, Brian (Susan) Galle, T.J. (Francesca) O'Toole, Erik Tilley, Paul (Alexandra) Tilley, Lara (Charbel Bouez) Tilley, Kathleen Ward, Martin Ward, Jimmy Boeckenstedt, Sarah (Jordan Kluesner) Boeckenstedt, Eric Boeckenstedt, and 18 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Donald, Charles and John "Jack" Lawler; two sisters, Margaret (Herbert) Pape and Mary Lawler; and a son-in-law, Leo Tilley.
