Obituary

Anthony M. Puccio, 76, of Farley, Iowa, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at his home in Farley.

Visitation for Tony will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at the Reiff Funeral Home in Farley, Iowa where the Farley Fire department will meet in a body at 4 p.m., Farley American Legion service will be held at 5 p.m. and service will be held at 5:30 p.m. with Pastor Diane Grace presiding and full military honors afforded by Farley American Legion Post #650.

Tony was born August 15, 1948, in Dubuque, Iowa, son of Charles and Betty (Carr) Puccio-Gibbs.  He was a United States Army Veteran having served in the Army in Germany during the Vietnam War. He was united in marriage to Kathi Elliott at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Farley, Iowa.

Tony was a member of the Farley American Legion Post #650 and the Farley Volunteer Fire Department.  He was an eager lottery ticket scratcher, loved Sunday family dinners, and was devoted to his dog companion Mason.

He is survived by his wife, Kathi Puccio of Farley; five children, Amanda Puccio of Dyersville, Abigail Dossey of Cedar Rapids, Kelly Puccio of Dubuque, Kara Puccio and Shane (Chelsea Burns) Puccio both of Farley; twelve grandchildren, Gage (Darien), Hailey, Skylar, Kennedy, Maggie, Madison, Layla, Isaiah, Jameson, MaKenna, Alina, and Declan; four great grandchildren; two brothers, Charles (Donna) Puccio of Epworth, Walter (Jane) Puccio of Cascade; one sister, Mary Nell (John) Kertels of Farley; nine step brothers and sisters, Ronald (Joanne) Gibbs of Rickardsville, Danny (Donna) Gibbs of North Buena vista, James (Donna) Gibbs of Farley, Mary Ann (Chuck) Dunne of Cascade, Julie (Phil) Meyer of Farley, Jane Schilling (& fiancé, Jeff Weber) of Petersburg, Kenneth Gibbs of North Buena Vista, and William Gibbs of Earlville; two brothers-in-law, Mark "Smokey" (Rhonda) Wernimont of Dubuque, and Steve Elliott of Glendale, AZ; many nieces, nephews,  great nieces, and nephews; best friends Pat Daly and Dave Elliott.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his step-father, Glen "Bud" Gibbs; one brother, Sam Puccio; step-sister, Connie Gibbs Scott; son-in-law, Daniel Dossey; two sisters-in-law, Susie Goerdt and Colleen Elliott.

The family would like to give a big thank you the Nurse and Staff at Hospice of Dubuque, and MercyOne Hospital for all the care and support they gave to Tony.
