Barb Eberle

Barb Eberle, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on October 17, 2026, surrounded by love and comfort, with her loyal dog Roxy by her side. Born on November 4, 1960, at the Mercy Medical Center in Davenport, Iowa, Barb was the cherished 7th child of Rollin Eugene and Barbara Jean Reynolds. Her life was a testament to the beauty of simple joys, family bonds, and an unwavering spirit. A proud graduate of West High School in Davenport, class of 1977, Barb always cherished her roots. She attended HM Perry Elementary School and Frank L Smart Jr High, where she formed friendships that lasted a lifetime. Her vibrant personality shone brightly, and she carried her warmth into every new chapter of her life. Barb was blessed with two loving marriages. She first married Leo Lopez on September 22nd, 1979, at Hilcrest Baptist Church in Davenport, Iowa, where they raised two wonderful children. Later, she found love again and married Larry Eberle on June 1st, 2000. Together, they resided in Davenport, creating a home filled with laughter and love. Barb was a devoted mother to her daughter, Amber (Jeffrey) Engesser of Cascade, Iowa, and her son Brandon Lopez (Jessica Crowe) of Davenport, Iowa. Her grandchildren, Aliciya, Sophia, Kruze, and Jaxyn of Cascade, and two bonus grandchildren Michael and Ceyaira, who were all the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She is survived by her seven siblings: Donald McConaughey of Aledo, IL; Debra Alvarez of Aledo, IL; Fred Reynolds of Hedrick, Iowa; David Reynolds of Tipton, Iowa; Rollinda Door of Manchester, Iowa; Kimberly Reynolds of Florida; and Greg Reynolds of Bennett, Iowa. Barb was preceded in death by her parents, her older brother Michael Reynolds, her sweet grandbabies Presley, Jeffrey Jr, Kamryn and Kaizen, her husband Larry Eberle and her two special fur babies Roamer and Max. Despite the losses she faced, Barb remained a beacon of positivity and resilience, always focusing on the brighter days ahead. Her life was filled with countless passions: dancing at the Kahl Ballroom, camping, fishing, cooking, and playing cards—where she delighted in seeing who could eat the most cake during the game. She found joy in the simple pleasures of spending time with her children and grandchildren, always with a smile on her face and laughter in her heart. A once devoted member of the Cornerstone Church of Cascade, Iowa, Barb found peace and community alongside her daughter and grandchildren. Her faith was a guiding force throughout her life, providing strength and comfort in all circumstances. Barb will be remembered for her kind and pleasant nature, as someone who was always there for others, offering support and love unconditionally. Her family fondly recalls her stubborn determination and her ability to always see the positive side of any situation.
