Betty J. White, 80, of Cascade, Iowa formerly of Bernard, Iowa passed away, Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 11:42 a.m., at Shady Rest Care Center in Cascade, Iowa.
Friends and relatives of Betty may call from 2 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at the Reiff Funeral Home in Cascade, Iowa, where a wake service will be held at 2 p.m. Friends may also call after 9 a.m., Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fillmore, Iowa.
Services for Betty will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fillmore, Iowa with Rev. Douglas Loecke presiding, concelebrating Rev. Tony Kruse, and assisting Deacon Steve Strang. Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Fillmore, Iowa
She was born August 17, 1936 in Independence, Iowa, daughter of Edgar E. and Louise (Kelchen) Vaske. She received her education from St. Francis Xavier High School and Mercy School of Nursing. She was united in marriage on June 6, 1959 to Thomas H. White at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Dyersville, Iowa.
She was a member of the Sacred Heart Parish and the Sacred Heart Rosary Society.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas White of Cascade, IA; six children, Philip White of Dubuque, IA, Tom White of Seeley, CA, Kathy (Ken) Anthony of Dubuque, IA, Jeff White (Special Friend Carol Coyle), Nick (Theresa) White, Mike (Kris) White all of Bernard, IA; 9 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; two sisters, Joan Milder of Davenport, IA and Karen (Frank) O'Hara of Omaha, NE.
She is also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers-in-law, Maurice Milder, Pat Kruse and Ralph Oberbroeckling
The family would like to thank the staff at Mercy ER, University of Iowa Hospital, Shady Rest Care Center and Hospice of Dubuque for the wonderful care they gave to Betty.
