Bridget M. Manternach, 72, of Cascade, Iowa passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017, at Shady Rest Care Center in Cascade, Iowa.
Friends and relatives of Bridget may call after 9 am on Friday, April 28, 2017, at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Cascade, Iowa. The Reiff Funeral Home in Cascade, Iowa is in charge of arrangements.

Funeral services for Bridget will be held at St. Martin's Catholic Church, Cascade, Iowa at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 28, 2017, with Rev. Neil Manternach officiating. Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Cascade. Following committal services the family is inviting everyone to a celebration of life at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Cascade.
Bridget was born July 6, 1944 in Dubuque, Iowa, daughter of Paul and Zita (Zwack) Sutton. She was a graduate of Wahlert High School in Dubuque, Iowa. On October 5, 1963, she was united in marriage to Ronald Manternach at St. Columbkille's in Dubuque. After high school she worked as a secretary for the Archdiocese of Dubuque and later as a legal secretary.
She had a very friendly personality and great sense of humor. She enjoyed taking day trips and fine art. She had a special fondness for her dog, Charlie.
She is survived by her husband Ronald Manternach of Cascade, IA; two daughters, Paula Manternach (& her partner Jennifer McHenry) of Iowa City, IA, and Tracey Manternach of Des Moines, IA; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jim Collins of Richfield, MN, Katie Rockzein of Anamosa, Joe (JoAnn) Manternach of Cascade, Ralph (Rita) Manternach of Cascade, Loras (Donna) Manternach of Masonville, Joan Hoffmann, Muriel (Duane) Schlemme, Lois (Alan) Gravel, Lester (Mary Ellen) Manternach and Lois Manternach all of Cascade and Clarence Quint of Manchester, IA; a step-sister-in-law, Jeanette Callahan; and step-brother-in-law, Dorrance (Pat) Manders, both of Dubuque.
She is preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Juanita Collins and one brother, Tim Sutton in infancy; her in-laws, Florence (Harry) Schockemoehl, Eleanor Quint, Alvina (Robert) Greif, Eva Mae (Elmer) Klocke, Sr. Irmina (Leona) Manternach OSF, Veronica (Herman) Welter, Larry Manternach and Harry Rockzein and Tom Hoffman; step-brothers-in-law, Donald (Mary) Manders and Jack Callahan.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Dubuque Rescue Mission.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Shady Rest Care Center for the Care and compassion they gave to Bridget.
