Bruce A. Glew, 75, of Asbury, Iowa formerly of Farley, Iowa passed away Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Aurora Summit Medical Center in Summit, Wisconsin.
Friends and relatives of Bruce may call from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at the Reiff Funeral Home in Farley, Iowa. They may also call after 9 a.m. on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at the Funeral home where services will be held at 10 a.m., with Pastor Stephanie Schlimm Presiding. Burial will be held in Fairview Cemetery in Farley, Iowa with Military Honors afforded by the Farley American Legion Post #656.
He was born January 4, 1942 in Farley, Iowa, son of Everett and Myrtle (Theilan) Glew Sr. He graduated in 1960 from Senior High School in Dubuque, Iowa. He was a Vietnam Era Veteran, having served with the United States Army from 1966 – 1968. In July 1969 he married Sue Fessler, from this union two wonderful children were born, Michelle and Jason. He worked at John Deere and later at Rite Hite where he later retired from.
Bruce was a wonderful loving father and grandfather to nine grandchildren, known fondly and lovingly as "PaPa Bruce." He loved his morning coffee and talking with his brother Mike and friends. He was well known for his love of classic cars and car shows. He will be sadly missed by all those who loved him dearly.
Bruce is survived by his daughter, Michelle (Dennis) Richey; his son Jason Glew; 9 grandchildren, Jacie, Jessica, Ian, Mia, Matthew, Kylie, Dillon, Zach and Madelyn; two brothers, Gerald Glew and Mike Glew; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Joseph Glew in infancy, Michael Glew, Everett "Sonny" Glew Jr. and Jan (Patricia) Glew; one sister, Gloria Fox; two nephews, Jim and Craig Fox.
