Daniel L. Freeman, 58, of Cascade Iowa passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at his home in Cascade.
Visitation for Daniel will be from 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday, October 29, 2023, at Reiff Funeral Home in Cascade, Iowa, where a Services for Daniel will be held at 4:30 p.m., with Deacon Dan Kurt presiding. Flag presentation will be done by the Cascade American Legion Post #528. Burial for Daniel will be held at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Dubuque, Iowa at a later date.
Daniel was born October 7, 1965, in Dubuque, Iowa, to his birth parents Donald and Barbara (Maneman) Freeman and was later raised by James and Kathyrn Kean. He was a 1985 graduate from Western Dubuque High School in Epworth, Iowa. He went on to become a Veteran having served in the United States Navy from 1985-1987. He was united in marriage on November 11, 1995, to Denise Kennicker, in Dubuque, Iowa.
Daniel enjoyed fishing, camping, walking in the woods, and taking trips with his family. He also had a love for football and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.
He was a member of the St. Matthias Parish in Cascade, Iowa.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Denise Freeman of Cascade; three children, Dalton and Devin Freeman both at home in Cascade, and Breanna Silver of Atlanta, GA; his mother, Kathryn Kean of Cascade; six siblings, Johnna Norpel of Richfield, MN, Gretchen (Keith) Adams of Cape Girardeau, MO, Roxanne (Jeff) Simon of Farley, Rose (Alan) McQuillen of Peosta, Cindy (Phil) Cook of Dubuque and Deb (Doug) Neilson of Farley; sisters and brothers-in-law, Debra Miller of Dubuque, Diane Love of Monticello, David (Lori) Kennicker, Donna Wood of Monticello, Darlene (Jeff) Sibley of Dubuque, Dawn (Tom) Ruskell of Carolle; and several loved nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his birth parents; his father, James Kean; four brothers, Steven Freeman, Troy, Dennis, and Aaron Kean; one sister, Sherry Messer; one niece, Olivia Ann Freeman; two brothers-in-law, Joseph Miller and John Wood.
A Daniel L. Freeman memorial fund has been established.
