Delmar A. Feldmann, 74, of Epworth, Iowa, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family in Epworth, Iowa.
Friends and relatives of Delmar may call from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, February 2, 2017 at the Reiff Funeral Home in Epworth, Iowa. Military Honors will be afforded by the Epworth American Legion-John White Post #650 at 6:30 p.m. A celebration of life will follow the services at Funnigans in Epworth, IA.
Delmar was born May 2, 1942 in Monticello, Iowa, son of Charles and Irene (Kelchen) Feldmann. He graduated in 1956 from St. Paul's High school in Worthington, IA. On October 19, 1963 he was united in marriage to Mary Lou Loeffelholz at St. Francis Xavier in Dyersville, Iowa.
Delmar was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was a member of the Epworth American Legion-John White Post #650.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who always enjoyed playing Euchre.
He is survived by his Wife, Mary Lou Feldmann of Epworth, IA; Eight children, Kenneth (Sandy) Feldmann of Swisher, IA, Kimberly Ehlermann of Roswell, NM, Keith (Sheri) Feldmann of Earlville, IA, Kris Feldmann of Worthington, IA, Kraig "Homer" (Bobbi) Feldmann of New Vienna, IA, Katina (Mike) Shaffer of Paris Crossing, IN, Kory (Julie) Feldmann of Dyersville, IA, Kary Lyn Waite of Bloomington, IN; 18 grandchildren, Colton and Caitlin, Ashlee, Aaron and Amber, Brittany, Rachelle and Rusty, Kevin (Jacki), Taylor, Kameron, Kody and Chevy, Makayla and Alex, Matthew, Kylee and Garrett; and 3 great grandchildren; one brother, Leonard (Caroline) Feldman of Darlington, WI; Five sisters-in-law, Rose Feldmann of Dyersville, IA, Margie Feldmann Lehmann of Farley, IA, Grace Feldmann of Worthington, IA, Mary Feldmann Ronebaum of Colesburg, IA, and Rosella Feldmann of Monticello, IA, brothers and sisters-in-law, Mark (Donna) Loeffelholz of Davenport, IA, Bev (Richard) Klaas of Cuba City, WI, Brad (Karla) Milbert of Dyersville, IA and Barb (Bill) Heitzmann of Dyersville, IA.
He is preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law, Mary Ann (Loeffelholz) Milbert; eight brothers, Donald, Raymond, Frances, Lawrence, Carl, Leo, Tom and Andrew Feldmann, three sisters, Lucille (Al) Vonderhaar, Rita (Charles) Meyer and Marie Hall Strief.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Dubuque especially Tim and Jan, Social workers Nicole and Lindsay, Dr. Holm and Stephanie and the girls in the Onocology department at Medical Associates for all their care and support.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
