Doris C. Putz, 82, of 506 6th Ave NW, Apt. 1, Cascade, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 12:30 a.m. at her home in Cascade, Iowa.
Friends and relatives of Doris may call from 3 to 8 p.m., Sunday, April 24, 2016 at the Reiff Funeral Home in Cascade, Iowa, where a wake service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friends may also call after 9:00 a.m. Monday at the Funeral Home.
Services for Doris will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 25, 2016 at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Cascade, Iowa, with Rev. Douglas Loecke Presiding. Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Cascade, Iowa.
She was born July 8, 1933 in New Vienna, Iowa, daughter of Leonard and Rose (Tauke) Hoefer. She is a graduate of Winthrop High School. On September 2, 1957 she was united in marriage to Richard D. "Dick" Putz at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Winthrop, Iowa. He preceded her in death on April 21, 2005.
Doris was employed as a bookkeeper at the former Great Plains Lumber Co. in Cascade, Iowa. Later she was a teller at Cascade State Bank and Security State Bank at the time of her death she was employed at Aquin Little Angels Day Care in Cascade. She was a member of St. Matthias Parish in Cascade.
She loved her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking for her family and attending her grandchildren's many activities.
She is survived by three children, Mike (Aggie) Putz of Edgewood, IA, Steve (Sheryl) Putz of Forest City, IA, and Julie (Mike "Hooker") Green of Cascade, IA; 9 grandchildren, Justin Putz, Ryan Putz, Eileen Putz, Brett Putz, Tyler Putz, Joshua Putz, Jonathan Green, Megan Rea and Jacob Green; 1 brother, Tom (Karen) Hoefer of Earlville, IA; 1 sister, Marlene (Allen) Johnson of Ankeny, IA; sisters-in-law, Helen Hoefer of Fairbank, IA; and Pat Putz of Bettendorf, IA.
She is also preceded in death by her parents; a brother Daniel Hoefer; a brother-in-law, Donald Putz; her in-laws, Albert and Eileen) Putz.
A Doris C. Putz memorial fund has been established.
