Eileen J. Rauen, 93 of Bankston entered into eternal life on February 6th 2017 at Oak Crest Nursing Home in Dyersville surrounded by her family.
Friends and relatives of Eileen may call from 2-8 pm Wednesday February 8th at the Reiff Funeral Home in Farley, Iowa, where a CDA Rosary will be held at 4:30 pm, the Farley American Legion will meet in a body at 7 p.m. and a wake service will be held at 7:30 pm. Friends may also call after 9 am Thursday at the funeral home.
Services for Eileen J. Rauen will be held at 10:30 am, Thursday, February 9, 2017 at St. Clement's Catholic Church in Bankston with Rev. Richard Kuhn officiating. Burial will be held in St. Clement's Cemetery in Bankston.
Eileen was born June 20, 1923 in Bancroft, IA, daughter of Matt & Eleanora (Beckman) Nadermann. On September 16, 1946 she was united in marriage to Sylvester "Bud" Rauen at St. Francis Xavier Church in Dyersville. Together they farmed on the Rauen's Century Family Farm until their retirement. Eileen was a member of St. Clement's Parish, Bankston. She was a member of the Farley Catholic Daughters of the America's-Presentation Court #1460. One of Eileen's favorite past times was ballroom dancing. She enjoyed volunteering with Bud on the Dubuque County Fair Board. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Eileen was a loving wife, proud mother of five sons, grandmother, and great grandmother. Eileen enjoyed the simple things of life: gardening, canning, cooking, and baking. No one ever left her home hungry.
Those left to cherish her memories are her 5 sons Richard "Rick" (Mary) Rauen, Paul (Lois) Rauen, Dennis (Virginia "Corky") Rauen, Steve (Joanne) Rauen, all of Farley and David (Joyce) Rauen of Bankston. 17 Grandchildren: Stacey Rauen, Dr. Aaron (Shelli) Rauen, Sara (Sean) Dardis, Matthew (Sara) Rauen, Peter (Becky) Rauen, Tammy (Nathan) Spiegel, Jason (Kelly) Rauen, Bill (Molly) Rauen, Tom (Amanda) Rauen, Tim (Jennifer) Rauen, Luke (Kaia) Rauen, Megan Rauen, Maria (Brad) Buelow, John, Olivia, Rebecca, Gloria Rauen and 25 Great Grandchildren. 4 siblings; Berniece Garretson of Waterloo, Germain Reed of Burbank, WA. Jim Nadermann and Tom (Helen) Nadermann of Dyersville; brother and sisters-in-laws, Jenny Nadermann of Aurora, CO, Agnes Nadermann of Dubuque, Gerald Hess of Dyersville, and Bill Rauen of Dubuque.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bud in 2009, parents, a grand-daughter, Angela Rauen ; a great grandson, Lucas Spiegel, her brothers; Laverne and Robert Nadermann, Elmer (Juanita) Nadermann, Leo (Dorothy) Nadermann, Sister; Millie (Fred) Smith, Brothers and Sister in law; Dean Garretson, Bob Reed and Connie Nadermann. Peter and Verna Rauen, Clifford and Myrene Lattner, Mark and Luella Beckman, Adrian and Teresa Milbert, Gabe and Ardella Even, Ray and Florence Callahan, Rita Hess, and Janice Rauen.
