Elaine A. Johnson, 55, of Cascade, Iowa died Saturday, January 14, 2017 surrounded by her family, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.

Friends and relatives of Elaine may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at the Reiff Funeral Home in Cascade, Iowa, where a wake service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friends may also call after 8:30 a.m. at the funeral home on Wednesday.

Services for Elaine will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fillmore, Iowa with Rev. Douglas Loecke officiating and assisting Deacon James Kean. Burial will be held in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Fillmore, Iowa.

Elaine was born February 8, 1961 in Dubuque, Iowa, daughter of Donald F. and Grace M. (Koopmann) Droeszler. On September 11, 1982 she was united in marriage to Kevin Johnson at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Garryowen, Iowa. She was employed at Luther Manor until her marriage, and then the couple farmed together in the rural Fillmore area.

She was a member of the Sacred Heart Parish in Fillmore, Iowa, and a member of its Altar and Rosary Society. Elaine was also a member of the Dairy Association. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed watching and feeding the humming birds and gold finches and was an avid collector of Precious Moments.

She is survived by her husband, Kevin Johnson of Cascade, IA, two children, Nathan (Paula) Johnson of Bernard, IA and Melissa (Marty) McLees of Cascade, IA, three grandchildren, George Johnson, Owen and Lidia McLees and expecting 2 more; her mother, Grace Droeszler of Bernard, IA; five siblings, Jolene Kundert of Monroe, WI, Donna (Mike) Weber of Bernard, IA, Duane (Amy) Droeszler of Cascade, IA, Mark (Lisa) Droeszler and Denise Droeszler both of Bernard, IA; her father and mother-in-law, Don and Pat Johnson of Fillmore, IA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Debbie (Ted) Mausser, DeEtt (Vince) Bergfeld both of Bernard, IA, Kenny (Mary) Johnson of Galena, IL, Alan (Karla) Johnson of Cascade, IA, Elgean (Rod) Brandenberg of Hiawatha, IA, Dean (Tonya) Johnson of Bernard, IA, Wayne (Renee) Johnson of Farley, IA, Trisha (Dennis) Gaul of Peosta, IA.

She is preceded in death by her father, Donald Droeszler on January 6, 2017; one brother, Gerald J. Droeszler on July 16, 1977; a brother-in-law, Daniel Kundert on April 19, 2013.
