Elaine M. O'Brien, 87, of Farley, Iowa passed away Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Shady Rest Care Center in Cascade, Iowa.
Friends and relatives of Elaine may call from 3 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at the Reiff Funeral Home in Farley, Iowa, where a wake service will be held at 2:45 p.m.
Services for Elaine will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 14, 2017 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Farley, Iowa with Rev. Thomas McDermott Presiding. Burial will be held in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Farley, Iowa.
She was born October 31, 1930 in Dyersville, Iowa, daughter of Emil and Marcella (Tebber) Klostermann. She is a graduate of the St. Francis Xavier School in Dyersville, Iowa. On October 20, 1951 she was united in marriage to Earl A. O'Brien at St. Francis Xavier in Dyersville, Iowa. He preceded her in death on March 8, 2009.
Elaine did daycare for Farley area families for more than 30 years. She enjoyed embroidering, Bingo, and playing euchre. She was an avid CUBS fan.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Parish in Farley, Iowa
She is survived by five children, Jeff (Lori) O'Brien and Jenny (Joe) Beringer both of Cascade, IA; Jackie (Jerry) Simon of Farley, IA, Jay (Lisa) O'Brien of Toddville, IA and Joan (Mike) Felton of Solon, IA; thirteen, grandchildren, Kayla Wilson, Andy Beringer, Ben O"Brien, Molly Hoeger , Doug Simon, Brittney Leibfried, Emily Simon, Kaitlin Simon, Kali Harris, Taylor O'Brien, Sidney O'Brien, Alex and Olivia Felton; a sister-in-law, Julie Klostermann of Charlotte, NC; step brothers, Bob (Cathy) Wilhelm, Dave Wilhelm, Paul (Rita) Wilhelm, Merle (Sharon) Wilhelm; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mike (Joyce) O'Brien, Joe O'Brien, Terry (Delores) O'Brien, Ann O'Brien, Kathleen (Rex) Gogerty, Joanelle (Irwin) McDermott, Lois (Rich) Schlegel, Deb (Bob) Green, Maurna O'Brien and Mary Ann O'Brien.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Dale Klostermann; brothers and sisters-in-laws, George, Ralph, Pat, Steve and Monica (Urbain) O"Brien .
