Elizabeth A. "Betty" Delaney, 92, passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Stonehill Care Center in Dubuque, Iowa.
Friends and relatives of Betty may call from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, September 22, 2017 at the Reiff Funeral Home in Epworth, Iowa. They may also call after 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at the Funeral home where services will be held at 11:30 a.m., with Rev. Michael Schueller Presiding. Burial will be held in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Epworth, Iowa.
She was born May 25, 1925 in Dubuque, Iowa, daughter of Clem and Madeline (Theisen) Schadle. On May 1, 1945 she was united in marriage to Thomas J. Delaney in Dubuque, Iowa.
She worked with the foster Grandparents in West Dubuque and Dubuque Community School for over 25 years. She loved to fly to visit her grandchildren in New Jersey.
Betty is survived by her children, Jim (Shirley) Delaney, Delaine (Norb) Heim both of Dubuque, IA, Beta (Harvey) King of Epworth, IA and Penny (Michael) Iannella of Sterling, NJ; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; one sister Joan (Gene) Frith and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Tom, one son, Dennis Delaney in infancy, her parents and one brother Donald Schadle.
The family would like to thank the staff at Alverna Apts. And Stonehill Nursing Home where she enjoyed excellent care for many years.
