Obituary

Everette "Tony" Earl Emerson, 93, of Anamosa, Iowa and formerly of Peosta, Dubuque, and Cascade passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at the Anamosa Care Center in Anamosa, Iowa, from congestive heart failure.

Per Tony's request there will be no public services.  The Reiff Funeral Home in Cascade is assisting the family with arrangements.

He was born on April 5, 1931, in Olin, Iowa, son of Eugene and Dorothy (McElrath) Emerson.  He received his education in the Cascade Eastside High School.  In February 1957, he was united in marriage to Betty Lou Miner in Dubuque, Iowa.  The couple were together for 30 years, until they separated.

Tony enjoyed his time spent with his granddaughter, Amanda and her animal collection.  He was known to be able to fix anything and his talents were often requested to fix things for friends, so he could often be found in the garage tinkering on a project.

He was a member of the 3rd Presbyterian Church in Dubuque, Iowa.  Tony was also a Veteran having served in the United States Army during the Korean War Conflict from 1949-1952, where he served as Motor Sgt and earned four battle stars.  He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #506 in Dubuque.
