Frank H. Kamp, 78, of Worthington, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 4:30 a.m. at Shady Rest Care Center in Cascade, Iowa.
Friends and family of Frank may call from 1 to 4 p.m., Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the Reiff Funeral Home in Dyersville, Iowa, where services will be held at 4:00 p.m., with Deacon Roger Riesberg presiding. A private family burial will be held in Highview Cemetery in Epworth at a later date.
He was born on March 25, 1938 in Dubuque, Iowa, son of Nicholas and Delores (Schmitt) Kamp. He received his education in the rural country school house in Bankston, Iowa. On February 17, 1966 he was united in marriage to Kaye O'Dell.
He was employed for 40 years at the Ertl Company in Dyersville, Iowa making toys. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening and was very proud of how his children turned out. He was always teasing the grandchildren to get a rise out of them.
He is survived by his wife, Kaye of Worthington, IA, three children, Kelly (Brett) Fagan and daughter, Sydney of Dubuque, Nicholas (Mindy) Kamp and sons, Hunter and Joseph of Worthington, and Angela (Jason) Schwendinger and children, Trevor, Adyson and Emerson of Anamosa; two brothers, James (Sharon) Kamp of Jesup, IA and Anthony Kamp of Peosta; two sisters, Margaret Thein of Raymond and Alice (Dave) McGhee of Asbury; Brothers and sisters-in-law, Otto (Sam) O'Dell Jr. of Dubuque, Joan (James) Walters of Guttenberg, David (Judy) O'Dell of Bernard, Barbara (Eldon) Jaeger of Worthington, Norene (Glen) Dole and Elaine O'Dell both of Dubuque, Robert (Shirley) O'Dell and Brian (Dee) O'Dell both of Epworth, Cheryl Trenkamp of Monticello, James Beau of Key West, IA and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Paul Kamp in infancy; Father and Mother-in-law, Otto and Mary (Shaw) O'Dell; three brothers-in-law, Allan O'Dell, Clarence O'Dell and Laverne Thein; and a sister-in-law, Karen (O'Dell) Beau.
