Gladys M Schnieders, 96, of Dyersville, Iowa, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2024, at her home in Dyersville, Iowa.
Visitation for Gladys will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at the Reiff Funeral Home in Dyersville, Iowa.
Mass of Christian Burial for Gladys will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at Basilica St. Francis Xavier in Dyersville, Iowa, with Rev. Chris Podhajsky presiding. Burial will be held in St. Francis Cemetery in Dyersville, Iowa.
Gladys was born on July 1, 1927, in Dyersville, Iowa, daughter of Albert and Marcella (Boeckenstedt) Tauke. She was a graduate of Greeley High School in Greeley, IA. She was united in marriage to Gerald H. "Gerry" Schnieders on September 26, 1951, in Greeley, IA. She worked at the National T Grocery Store, Iowa liquor Store, Theisens in Dyersville, and she sold Avon. Together the couple enjoyed living on their acreage, their quarter horses, all the horse shows they attended, and the many great friendships came from that. He preceded her in death on September 17, 2017.
She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Parish in Dyersville, Iowa.
She is survived by her four children Sam Schnieders of Tampa, FL, Jeff (Tammy) Schnieders, Lori (Bradley) Knight both of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Sally (Terry) Steffen of Dyersville, IA; six grandchildren, Melissa, Justin, Matt, Jeremy, Kelly, and Ryan; nine great grandchildren, Killian, Emma, Ender, Kane, Cohen, Everly, Paisley, Baylor, and Graham; one brother, Wayne (Louise) Tauke of Edgewood, IA; one sister, Elaine Beall of Leawood, KS; one sister-in-law, Dr. Joan Nickol of Cedar Rapids, IA.
She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Donald "Don" Tauke; Father and Mother-in-law, Art and Marcina Schnieders; one sister-in-law, Geraldine (Don) McQuillen, two brothers-in-law, Earl Beall, and Bobby Schnieders.
The Schnieders family would like to thank Hospice of Dubuque, and the good neighbors especially Greg and Elaine Wagner for all the wonderful care and support they gave to Gladys.
