Grace M. (Koopmann) Droeszler, 88, of Bernard, Iowa passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at Accura Health in Cascade, Iowa.

Visitation for Grace will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 15, 2024, at the Reiff Funeral Home in Cascade, Iowa, where a wake service will be held at 3:30 p.m.  Visitation will also be held after 9 to 10 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Services for Grace will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Garryowen, Iowa with Rev. Mark Osterhaus officiating.  Burial will be held in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Garryowen.

Grace was born April 14, 1935, in Epworth, Iowa, daughter of Emil and Mary Catherine (Bergfeld) Koopmann.  She received her education from the Placid area schools and graduated from Epworth High School.  She worked at Silker's General Store, Epworth and Walsh Store, Dubuque.  On September 2, 1957, she was united in marriage to Donald F. Droeszler at St. John's Catholic Church in Placid, Iowa.  After they married, they moved to Bernard, where the couple farmed for many years. Donald preceded her in death on January 6, 2017.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Parish in Garryowen.  Grace was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved spending time with her family.  She enjoyed making the grandchildren their favorite foods.

She is survived by her five children, Jolene Kundert of Monroe, WI, Donna (Mike) Weber of Bernard, Duane (Amy) Droeszler of Cascade, Mark (Lisa) Droeszler and Denise Droeszler both of Bernard; son-in-law, Kevin Johnson of Cascade; 12 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Kay Doty of Dubuque, Helen (Merlin) Theisen of LaMotte, Patricia (Al) Chamberlain of Anamosa, Mary (Frank) Klaas of Hayward, WI, and Donnie Ambrosy of Arizona; and many nieces and nephews.

She is also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Gerald "Jerry" Droeszler on July 16, 1977; one daughter, Elaine Johnson on January 14, 2017; a son-in-law, Daniel Kundert; father and mother-in-law, Ralph and Imelda (Kaiser) Droeszler; brothers and sisters, Bernice (Bernard) Kramer, Inez (Ronnie) Silker, Donald (Margaret) Koopmann, Melita (Roy) Ross, Elmer Koopmann, John (Rosie) Koopmann, and Jean (Francis"Ducky") Oberfoell; brothers and sisters-in-law, Harlan Doty, LuMae (Loras) Cavanaugh, Shirley (Darrell) Goetzinger, and Janice Ambrosy.

The family would like to thank the Nurses and Staff at Accura Health, Above and Beyond Hospice and Sherry Kelchen for all the care and support they gave to Grace.
