Helen R. Grobstick, 88, of Dyersville, Iowa and formerly of Farley, Iowa, passed away Tuesday,
July 18, 2017 at 2:25 a.m. at Oak Crest Manor in Dyersville, Iowa.
Friends and relatives of Helen may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, July 20, 2017 at the Reiff Funeral Home in Farley, Iowa, where a wake service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Friends may also call after 10 a.m. on Friday at the Reiff Funeral Home.
Services for Helen will be held at noon on Friday, July 21, 2017 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Farley, Iowa, with Rev. Michael Schueller Presiding. Burial will be held in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Farley, Iowa.
Helen was born May 13, 1929 in Manchester, Iowa, daughter of Clarence H. and Augusta Marie (Derga) Grobstick. She is a graduate of Immaculate Conception Academy in Dubuque, Iowa. She was employed at Iowa National Insurance Company and later at FMC in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Parish in Farley, Iowa and its Altar and Rosary Society.
She is survived by a sister, Theresa Hermsen of Dyersville, IA; five nieces and nephews, Paul (Kim) Hermsen, Sue Hermsen, Tim (Sandy) Hermsen, Joe Hermsen, and Jenny Hermsen; a great niece, Payton Mae Hermsen; a great nephew, Jack Edward Hermsen; and three step great nieces, Kelsey (Brett) Gudenkauf, Courtney Steffensmeier and Kylie Steffensmeier; and one great great nephew, Henry Gudenkauf.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Clara Mae Grobstick on Feb. 16, 2005 and Lucille Grobstick on October 30, 2012; and a brother-in-law, Clarence E. Hermsen on August 9, 2011.
A Helen R. Grobstick memorial fund has been established.
