Ida W. Trumm

Ida W. Trumm, 89, of Cascade, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2026 at Accura Healthcare in Cascade, Iowa.

Visitation for Ida will be held from 8 until 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 24, 2026 at St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Cascade, Iowa, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Ida at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Daniel Knepper presiding. Concelebrating will be Rev. Steven Garner and Rev. Mark Osterhaus. Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Cascade, Iowa.

Ida was born October 7, 1936 on the family farm, daughter of William and Ida ( Kremer ) Knepper. She received her education in the Worthington schools. On January 14, 1956 she was united in marriage to John Trumm at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Worthington, Iowa. Together they built a life grounded in faith, love and hard work. They purchased a farm near the Cascade area, where they devoted themselves to farming and created a warm, welcoming home, where they raised their eleven children, instilling in each of them the values of compassion, hard-work and unconditional love. Her greatest joy was her family

She was a member of St. Matthias Parish in Cascade, Iowa.

She is survived by eleven children, Jacquie (Herb) Manternach, Nancy (Harley) Leytem and Bill (Deb Rohr) Trumm all of Cascade, IA, Larry (Cindy) Trumm of Farley, IA, Phyllis (Stan) Quincy of Platteville, WI, Jean (Denny) Brackemyer of Bernard, IA, John "Jay" (Sue) Trumm, Mary Ann (Keith) Aitchison, Ralph (Janice) Trumm, Jim (Amanda) Trumm and Josh (Karla) Trumm all of Cascade; 37 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; a brother, Mike Knepper of Dyersville, IA and a sister-in-law, Lois Manternach of Worthington, IA.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John on May 9, 2016; her parents; her father and mother-in-law, John and Elizabeth (Pottebaum) Trumm; brothers and sisters, Carl (Marie) Knepper, Irene (Ernie) Recker, Walt (Mary) Knepper, Helen (Frank) Carroll, Rosalyn (Ed) Ludwig, Loras (Mary) Knepper, Paul (Gladys) Knepper, George (Alma) Knepper and Joan (John) Anstoetter; her sisters and brothers-in-laws, Jean Knepper, Mary (Fred) Reiter, Dorothy (Larry) Yanda, Millie (Ed) Hosch, Leroy (Mary) (Rosene) Trumm, Lloyd Manternach, and Robert (Betty) Trumm.
