Janice K. "Katie" McCarthy, 70, of Dyersville, Iowa, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2017 at her home in Dyersville, Iowa.

Friends and relatives of Katie may call from 3 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Reiff Funeral Home in Dyersville, Iowa, where a wake service will be held at 3 p.m. Friends may also call after 8:30 a.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mass of Christian Burial for Katie will held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at the Basilica St. Francis Xavier in Dyersville, Iowa with Rev. Dennis Quint presiding. Burial will be held in St. Francis Cemetery in Dyersville, Iowa at a later date.

Katie was born July 15, 1947 in Dubuque, Iowa, daughter of Clarence and Lucille "Toots" (Cunningham) Beckmann. She graduated from Xavier High School. She was united in marriage to Patrick McCarthy on August 2, 1985 at the Basilica St. Francis Xavier in Dyersville, IA. She was employed at Scale Models in Dyersville, IA for 25 years.

Katie was a very devoted grandmother to her three grandchildren. She was an avid bowler and had a life time hobby of collecting Dolls.

She was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Parish.

She is survived by her husband, Pat McCarthy of Dyersville, IA; one daughter, Karie (Fred) Bounds of West Des Moines, IA; three grandchildren, Delaney, Kameryn and Emersyn; three siblings, Pat (Richard) Vaske of Dyersville, IA, Deanne (John) Rubner of Ahwatukee, AZ and Joyce (Rob) Bannister of Asbury, IA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom ( Maureen) McCarthy of Sherrill, IA, Susan (Ed) Werner of Epworth, IA, Bill (Jan) McCarthy of Cascade, IA, Bob (Julie) McCarthy of Peosta, IA, Millie McCarthy of Milwaukee, WI and Ron (Judy) McCarthy of Epworth, IA.

She is preceded in death by her parents; father and mother-in-law, Ralph and Loretta McCarthy, two sisters-in-law, Mary Jane McCarthy and Margie McCarthy.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Rob & Becky Bannister, Tom & Maureen McCarthy and Ed & Sue Werner for all their help and support.
