Jean M. Reiter, 93, of Cascade, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at Riverbend Retirement Community in Cascade, Iowa.

Visitation for Jean will be held from 9 to 11 a.m., on Friday, February 2, 2024, at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Cascade, Iowa where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Mark Osterhaus presiding.  Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Cascade, IA.

She was born September 18, 1930, in Monticello, Iowa, daughter of Lynn and Antoinette (Nordman) Howie.  On September 11, 1952, she was united in marriage to Edward Reiter at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Monticello, Iowa.  He preceded her in death on May 20, 1995.

Jean was employed as a Nursing assistant, and many years she worked at Roshek's during the holidays.  She was a member of St. Matthias Parish in Cascade.

She is survived by five children, Michael Reiter of Cascade, IA, Marty (Cambria) Reiter of Arnold, CA, Cheryl (Bryan) Bucher of Grafton, WI, Diann (Terry) Dennis of Swisher, IA and Cindy Callahan of Woodbury, MN and Pam Reiss of Peosta, IA; 16 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 2 step great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Sharon Howie of Minneapolis, MN.

She is also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Bill Howie and Larry Howie; a sister, JoAnn Richardson; two daughters-in-law, Gloria Reiter and Denise Reiter; and a grandson, Lucas Dennis.
