Jeannette E. Knuth, 83, of Cascade, Iowa she passed away Monday, May 22, 2017 at 6:15 p.m. at Shady Rest Care Center in Cascade, Iowa.
Friends and relatives of Jeannette may call from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, May 25, 2017 at the Reiff Funeral Home in Cascade, Iowa, where a wake service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friends may also call after 9 a.m., Friday at the funeral Home.
Services for Jeannette will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 26, 2017 at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Cascade, Iowa, with Rev. Douglas Loecke officiating. Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Cascade, Iowa.
Jeannette was born January 5, 1934 in Lowden, Iowa, daughter of Charles and Grace (Osgood) Waters. She received her education in the Lost Nation High School. On August 16, 1952 she was united in marriage to Cecil Knuth at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lost Nation. The couple farmed in the rural Cascade area.
She was a member of St. Matthias Parish in Cascade, Iowa. She was also a 4H Leader in Jones County for many years. Jeanette was an avid bowler and was very crafty; she loved sewing and making wicker baskets with Friends.
She is survived by her husband, Cecil Knuth of Cascade, Iowa; one daughter, Mary (Paul) Thompson of Sherrill, IA; one son, Mark (Cathy) Knuth of Cascade, IA; 7 grandchildren, Aaron Thompson, Jeannette Christensen, Laura Thompson, Amanda Schlemme, Ryan Knuth, Kayla Thompson, and Eric Knuth; 13 great grandchildren; four sisters, Wanita (Mic) Sheldon of Lost Nation, IA, Dorothy Eggert of Wyoming, IA, Irma Neiber of Elwood, IA and Connie Nissen of Bernard, IA.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Charles "Chic" Waters and Eddie Waters; two sisters, Dona Stender and Sandra McCombs.
