Joan E. Connolly, 92, of Cascade, Iowa, formerly of Bernard, Iowa, died Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Mercy Hospital in Dubuque, Iowa.

Friends and relatives of Joan may call from 8:30 until Services at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at St. John's the Baptist Catholic Church in Peosta, Iowa.

Services for Joan will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 20, 2016 at St. John's the Baptist Catholic Church in Peosta, Iowa with Rev. Richard Kuhn officiating. Burial will be held in Holy Family Cemetery in New Melleray, Peosta, Iowa.

Joan was born May 14, 1924 in Bernard, Iowa, daughter of Francis and Irene (McCarthy) Donovan. She received her education from Fillmore country school and the Visitation Academy in Dubuque, Iowa. On May 21, 1941 she was united in marriage to Maurice "Bubbie" Connolly at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fillmore, Iowa.

She was a member of Holy Family Parish in New Melleray, Peosta, Iowa, the Holy Family Rosary Society, and Catholic Daughters of American court #1287. She was also a member of the Dubuque County Saddle Club.

She is survived by her three children, Justin (Annette) Connolly of Peosta, IA, Judi (Dwain) Connolly-Trenkamp of Maquoketa, IA, and Jerry (Mary Jo) Connolly of North Richland Hills, Texas; 17 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Maurice "Bubbie" Connolly on December 19, 2012; one son, Jeff in August 24, 1980, twin brothers, Cletus (Jean) Donovan and Clifford (Lucille) Donovan; one sister, Lou Mae (Dominic) English.
