June Hollenback, 88, of Dyersville, Iowa, formerly of Farley, IA passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, February 24, 2017 at 1:07 p.m. at her daughter's home in Blue Grass, Iowa.

At the request of our loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother there will be no public visitation or services. A private burial will be held at a later date. Reiff Funeral Home in Farley, Iowa is in charge of arrangements.

She was born on June 9, 1928 in Maquoketa, Iowa, Daughter of Leonard and Viola (Potter) Watters. She received her education at Maquoketa schools. On November 25, 1946 she was united in marriage to Andrew L. Hollenback in Maquoketa, IA. He preceded her in death on March 9, 2007. She was employed as one of the 1st women school bus drivers for the Western Dubuque School District. She drove for 30+ years. After her retirement, she and Andy enjoyed golfing and traveling to Elko, NV.

She loved spending time with many of her kids and grandchildren, playing dice or cards, or just sitting around a bonfire. She liked to crochet and her Sunday trips to Dairy Queen. She also loved to read.

She is survived by ten children, Andrew (Bonita Mausser) Hollenback of Epworth, IA, William "Bill" (Mary Beth) Hollenback of Farley, IA, Rick (JoAnn) Hollenback of Westminster, CO, Sandy (Rick) Gotto, Peggy Kruse and Joseph (Pam Null) Hollenback all of Farley, IA, Mark (Tammi) Hollenback of New Vienna, IA, Chris (Randy) Sindt of Dubuque, IA, Susie (Mike) Maahs of Dyersville, IA and Ann (Jeff) Reddin of Blue Grass, IA; 26 granchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 10 step great grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Jack (Pat) Hollenback of Mooresville, NC and Dick (Donna) Hollenback of Fort Meyers, FL; one sister-in-law, Ava Ferlmann of Peoria, IL.

She is also preceded in death by her parents, her son, David Hollenback on June 11, 2012, one son-in-law, Jim"Hooker" Kruse, one grandson, Jacob Hollenback, eight brothers, Conrad, LeRoy, Robert, Melvin, Wesley, Delos, Charles and Allen; two brothers-in-law, Andrew's Twin Billy Boy Hollenback and Robert Hollenback; two sisters-in-law, June (Art) Beier and Virginia (Don) Herbst.

Many family members want to give a special thanks to Mike and Susie Maahs & Jeff and Ann Reddin for all that you have done for Mom. Special thanks to the University of Iowa Hospital SNICU staff especially, Nurse Karen and Hospice Compassus especially Marcy, Carlos, Don, Wendy and Beth.
