Lila J. Niday, 93, of Dyersville, Iowa passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at MercyOne Senior Care in Dyersville, Iowa.

Visitation for Lila will be held from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., on Thursday, June 15, 2023, at the Reiff Funeral Home in Dyersville.  Mass of Christian Burial for Lila will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Thursday, June 15, 2023, at Basilica St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Dyersville, Iowa, with Rev. Gabriel Oduro Mensah presiding. Burial will be held at St. Francis Cemetery in Dyersville, Iowa.

Lila was born on February 4, 1930, at her family home in Edgewood, IA, the daughter of Florian and Henrietta (Roling) Bruggemann.  She graduated from the former St. Francis Xavier High school in Dyersville, Iowa.  On November 27, 1952, she was united in marriage to Frank D. Niday at the Basilica St. Francis Xavier in Dyersville, Iowa.  He preceded her in death on July 31, 2007.

Lila was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who truly enjoyed spending time with her family.  She also loved dancing and playing cards.

Those left to cherish her memory are her three children, Judy (Russell) Miller of Marion, Russel (Kim) Niday of Ocala, FL, and Daniel (Maribeth) Niday of Boone; six grandchildren, Melissa (Tadd) Andrle, Michelle (Jason) Upton, and Deborah (David Stalnaker) Miller, Katelyn, Justin (Molly), and Ryan Niday; six great grandchildren, Rylan, Chloe, Claireann, Emmalyn, Lillian, and Briarly; one sister-in-law, Theresa Bruggemann of Dyersville.

Lila is also preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Jean (Leverne) Platz; and one brother Howard Bruggemann.

The family would like to thank the Nurses and Staff at MercyOne Senior Care and Hospice of Dubuque for all the wonderful care and support they gave to Lila.
