Lois Ann Gudenkauf, 52, of Moline, Illinois and formerly of Cascade, Iowa, passed away Friday, November 24, 2017 at Trinity Hospital in Rock Island, IL.
Friends and relatives of Lois may call from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at the Reiff Funeral Home in Cascade, Iowa, where a prayer service and rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friends may call after 9 a.m. at the funeral home on Wednesday.
Services for Lois will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Cascade, Iowa with Rev. Douglas Loecke officiating. Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Cascade, Iowa.
She was born on October 2, 1965, in Monticello, Iowa daughter of Eugene E. and Anita (McCarthy) Gudenkauf. She was a 1984 graduate of Cascade High School and a graduate of the American Institute of Commerce in Davenport, Iowa. She worked as an Optician at the Wal-Mart Vision Center for 27 years. She loved photography and took many pictures of family, friends, nature and churches. She enjoyed making rosaries and giving them to people. Lois was very gifted in the arts and she saw the beauty in everything. She loved animals and leaves behind her two precious cats Katy and Tanner.
She was a member of the Christ the King Catholic Church in East Moline.
She is survived by her parents, Eugene and Anita Gudenkauf of Cascade, IA; 4 siblings, Kathy (Gilbert) Korthals of Bondurant, IA, Dennis Gudenkauf of Cedar Rapids, IA, Sue Gudenkauf of Madison, WI and Jennifer (Joe) Weyers of Ames, IA; nieces and nephews, Jessica, Abby, Erin and Kara Korthals, Maximilian (Godson), Augustine, Dominic "Nico", Mary-Lou and Clare Weyers; and many aunts, uncles and friends.
A Lois Ann Gudenkauf memorial fund has been established.
