Mary Kathryn "Mary Kay" Connolly, 84, of Cascade, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at her home in Cascade.

Visitation for Mary Kay will be held from Noon to 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at the Reiff Funeral Home in Cascade, Iowa.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Kay will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Garryowen, Iowa, with Rev. Mark Osterhaus presiding.  Assisting Deacon will be Joe Schockemoehl.  Burial will be held at a later date.

She was born May 29, 1940, in Fillmore, Iowa, daughter of Raymond and Mary (White) Turnis.  She received her education in the Fillmore area schools and then at Immaculate Conception Academy in Dubuque.  On May 12, 1962, she was united in marriage to Wilfred Connolly at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fillmore, Iowa.

She was employed as a Nursing Assistant and Med Aide for over 30 years at the Jones and Dubuque Care Facilities and Shady Rest Care Center.  Mary Kay enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, Reading, going to the Cascade Library, exercising, walking and going to the Y.

She was a member of St. Matthias Parish in Cascade, Iowa.

She is survived by her husband, Wilfred Connolly of Cascade, IA; two children, Christopher (Dawn Kolden) Connolly of McCall, ID and Janet (Tim) Myers of O'Fallon, MO; two grandchildren, Andrew (RaeAnn) Myers and Katie Myers; one great grandchild, Clara Myers; nine siblings, Anne Joyce Naber of Dyersville, IA, Stephen (Arlene) Turnis of Dubuque, Elaine Steffensmeier of Dyersville, David (Linn) Turnis of Bloomington, IL, Peter Turnis of Arizona, Margie (Ed) Stoll of Cascade, Jane (John) Pisarik of Mt. Vernon, Julie (Ralph) Hosch of Cascade, Barb Turnis of Cedar Rapids, and Joan Turnis of Dubuque.

She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Tom Turnis; her father and mother-in-law, Walter and Rita Connolly; two brothers-in-law, Frank Naber and Don Steffensmeier.
