Mary M. Kluesner, 70, of Epworth, Iowa formally of Holy Cross, Iowa, died at 3:50 a.m., Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Shady Rest Care Center in Cascade, Iowa, with Paul by her side .

Friends and relatives of Mary may call from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, August 5, 2016 at Reiff Funeral Home in Epworth, Iowa, where a prayer service will be held at 3:30 p.m.

Funeral Mass for Mary will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 6, 2016 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Epworth, Iowa with Rev. Michael Schueller officiating. There will be no public visitation before services on Saturday. Burial will be held in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Epworth, Iowa.

Mary was born May 24, 1946 in Cascade, Iowa, daughter of Leo and Coletta (Heid) Trumm. She is 1964 graduate of Aquin High School in Cascade. She also attended Northeast Iowa Community College for 2 years. On April 22, 1967 she was united in marriage to Paul J. Kluesner at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Cascade, Iowa. She and Paul farmed and raised their family in the Holy Cross area until 2001 when they moved to Epworth. Mary retired from Beckman High School in 2015 after 18 years of service.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Parish.

She is survived by her husband, Paul J. Kluesner of Epworth, IA; three sons, Scott (Vicki) Kluesner of Farley, IA, Todd M. (Shawn) Kluesner of Epworth, IA and Brett (Stephanie) Kluesner of Earlville, IA; five grandchildren, Lucas and Jacklyn Kluesner, Henry Kluesner, Samantha and Gabriella Kluesner; one sister, Dorothy (Duane Gorman) Hahn of Dubuque, IA; four brother, Lavern "Barney" (Mary) Trumm of Manchester, IA, Donnie (Pat) Trumm of Dubuque, IA, Eldon (Kaye) Trumm of Worthington, IA and Steve Trumm of Florida; one brother-in-law, Robert DeShaw of Hopkinton, IA; one sister-in-law, Becky Walser of Dubuque, IA.

She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers Paul and Ernie Trumm; one sister, Bernadine DeShaw.

The family would like to thank the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, The staff of Shady Rest Care Center, Hospice of Dubuque, especially Amy C. and Amy B. for all the wonderful care given to Mary.
