Mary C. Ludwig, 83, of Dubuque, Iowa, formerly of Farley, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 11, 2024 at her home in Dubuque, Iowa.

Private visitation and services for Mary will be held at the Reiff Funeral Home in Peosta, Iowa.

Mary was born on March 11, 1941, in Dubuque, Iowa, daughter of Leander and Rita (Steffen) Weber.  She is a graduate of St. Francis Xavier High School in Dyersville, Mercy School of Nursing in Dubuque, and the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa.  She worked as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at Medical Associates in Dubuque until her retirement in 2002.  On November 10, 1962, she was united in marriage to James Ludwig at the Basilica St. Francis Xavier in Dyersville, Iowa.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Parish in Farley, Iowa and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Presentation Court #1460.

Mary was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who truly enjoyed taking care of children, especially her grandchildren.

Those left to cherish the memory of Mary are her husband of 62 years, James Ludwig of Dubuque; two children, Jennifer Erickson of Peosta, and James (Lisa) Ludwig of Farley; five grandchildren, Samuel, Jonathan, Tiffany, Brian, and Alex Ludwig; four siblings, Ralph (Judy) Weber of Dyersville, Dave (Karen) Weber of Fort Worth, TX, Maggie (Kevin) McDonell of Thorton, CO, and Patricia (Roy) Nelson of Amber; in-laws, Mary DeSotel of Dyersville, John (LaVonne) Ludwig of Anamosa, Judy (Dick) Link, Darlene (Ken) Besler,  Kathy (Joe) Jasper all of Farley, David (Betty) Ludwig, Gary (Mary Jane) Ludwig, and Linda (Neil) Hoeger, all of Worthington.

She is preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Mark Erickson; two brothers, Robert (Alice) Weber and Charles (JoAnn) Weber; father and mother-in-law, Leon and Kathryn Ludwig; brother-in-law, Rodney DeSotel.
