Mary Ellen "Mae" Salow, 61, of Lake Delhi, peacefully joined the angels surrounded by the love of her family Wednesday, December 25, 2019 at her home.
Visitation for Mae will be held Monday, December 30, 2019 from 2 to 8 p.m. at St. John's Catholic Church in Delhi, Iowa, where a prayer service will be held at 2 p.m.
Visitation will also be held at 9:30 a.m. at the church in Delhi, Iowa.
Reiff Funeral Home in Dyersville, Iowa is assisting family with arrangements.
A Mass of Christian burial for Mae will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at the St. John's Catholic Church in Delhi, Iowa, with Rev. Msgr. W. Dean Walz presiding and Rev. John Kremer concelebrating.
Burial will be held in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Earlville, Iowa.
She was born August 21, 1958, in Manchester, Iowa, daughter of LaVerne and Ida (Wessels) Sabers.
She was a 1976 graduate from Maquoketa Valley High School in Delhi, Iowa.
Mae worked as a daycare provider until she was proudly employed with Rockwell Collins from 1986 – 2019.
On July 15, 1978, she was united in marriage to Dale Feldmann at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Earlville, Iowa. One daughter, Jenny (Kelly) McDowell blessed this union.
He preceded her in death on August 23, 1978.
On June 25, 1983, she was united in marriage to Kelly Salow at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Earlville, Iowa.
One daughter, Kerri (Tyler) Hays blessed this union.
Mae was filled with love and was a loyal wife, proud mom, cherished grandma, treasured sister, loving daughter and adored friend to so many.
She had a way of loving that was simple and genuine and was the happiest when surrounded by family and friends.
She had a heart of gold and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially enjoying Lake Delhi.
She was a member of St. John's Parish in Delhi, Iowa.
Mae is survived by her husband, Kelly Salow of Lake Delhi, IA; two daughters, Jenny (Kelly) McDowell of rural Manchester, IA, Kerri (Tyler) Hays of Des Moines, IA; seven grandchildren, Kaela, Kylie, and Lukas Chesnut, Alec, Emma, and Elizabeth McDowell, and Forest Hays; Her mother, Ida (Wessels) Sabers; 9 siblings, Barb (Doug) Deshaw of Hopkinton, IA, Pat Sabers of Earlville, IA, Loras (DeeAnn Sullivan) Sabers of Manchester, IA, Bob (Kathy) Sabers of Earlville, IA, Jane (Ric Hillers) Hendricks, Joyce (Brian) Moorman, Ron Sabers all of Manchester, IA, Laurie Sabers of Wilton, IA; fathers and mothers-in-law, Hap (Phyllis) Salow, Iris McElmeel and Rita Feldmann; brothers and sisters-in-law, Chris Roling, Cindy Salow, Tony (Jane) Salow, Kevin Salow, Dean (Annette) Salow, Kim (Kevin) Smith, Becky (Mike) Freidman, Cindy Fox, Bruce Sly, Tab Sly, Marilyn (Joe) Willenbring, Lois (Gene) White, Margie (LeRoy) Helle, Arnie (Carmen) Feldmann, Joyce (Tom) Nefzger, Connie (Rodney) Nefzger, Linda (Mark) O'Pat; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She is also preceded in death by her father, LaVerne Sabers and one sister, Carolyn Roling.
In lieu of flowers and gifts Mae's wish was to support our local charities and organizations.
