Mary A. Noonan, 81, of Cascade, Iowa and formerly of Crystal Lake, Illinois died Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Shady Rest Care Center in Cascade, Iowa.
Friends and relatives of Mary may call from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 28, 2017 at the Reiff Funeral Home in Cascade, Iowa.
Services for Mary Ann will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 28, 2017 at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Cascade, Iowa with Rev. Douglas Loecke officiating. Burial will be held in Holy Family Cemetery in New Melleray (Peosta), Iowa.
She was born August 8, 1935 in St. Joseph's Prairie, rural Dubuque, Iowa, daughter of Cletus and Marcella (Powers) Connolly. She is a graduate of St. Columbkille's High School in Dubuque, Iowa and received her certification as an X-Ray Tech from St. Anthony's in Rockford, IL. She was employed at St. Ann's Hospital in Chicago, IL, Princeton Hospital in Princeton, N.J., Gottlieb Hospital in Melrose Park, IL and McHenry Hospital in McHenry, IL. She later worked for Dr. Richard Gorski out of Woodstock, IL.
She is survived by her husband, Pat Noonan whom she married on April 15, 1961at St. Joseph's Prairie Church. They resided in Chicago, New Jersey, Berwyn, IL and South Holland, IL before moving to Crystal Lake, IL in 1976.
She is also survived by three sons, Kevin (Susan) Noonan of Crystal Lake, IL, Steve (Jan) Noonan of South Bend, IN, and Sean (Mary) Noonan of Algona, IA; 7 grandchildren, Patrick, Erin, Danny, Bridget, Courtney, Katie and Ryan; one sister, Rose (Bob) Carr of Dubuque, IA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dan (Mary) Noonan and Cecilia "Cis" Meloy both of Cascade, IA, Mike (Jeanne) Noonan of Peosta, IA, and Shirley Noonan of San Mateo, CA; Geri Connolly of Dubuque, IA and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Cletus Connolly Jr.; a sister, Joan Connolly; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob Noonan, Mary Margaret Noonan, Frances Noonan, John "Oz" Noonan, Nancy Noonan, Walter Meloy and her nephew, Danny Noonan.
A mass and dinner will be celebrated at St. Thomas Church in Crystal lake, IL at a later date.
