Mary C. Stoffel, 95, of Dyersville, Iowa, passed away on, Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at Mercy One Medical Center in Dubuque, Iowa.

Visitation for Mary will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 2, 2023, at the Reiff Funeral Home in Dyersville, Iowa.  A Mass of Christian burial for Mary will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at the Basilica of St. Francis Xavier in Dyersville, Iowa, with Rev. Philip Agyei officiating.   Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery in Dyersville, Iowa.

Mary was born on March 31, 1928, in Bankston, Iowa, daughter of Louis and Madeline (Schmitt) Hagerty.  She received her education in the St. Clements School in Bankston, Iowa.  On May 24, 1949, she was united in marriage to Eldon J. Stoffel at St. Clements Catholic Church in Bankston, Iowa.  The couple lived in Decorah until their retirement in 1989, when they moved to Dyersville.  Eldon preceded her in death on March 4, 2004.

Mary was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great great grandmother who truly enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  She also enjoyed quilting and college basketball.

She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Parish in Dyersville.

She is also survived by six daughters, Cheryl Flaskerud of Earlham, IA, Susan Heffron of Waukesha, WI, Lynn (Kevin) Durscher of Grandin, FL, Mary Ellen (Terry) Yates of Hampton, IA, Lori (Matt) Schill of Ames, IA, and Rosemarie (John) Iverson of Decorah, IA; a son-in-law, Steve Schaller of Johnston, IA; 16 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; her siblings, Pat (Judy) Hagerty of Bankston, Judy (Ray) Slomkowski of White Bear, MN; sister-in-law, Phong Hagerty of Missouri..

She is preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Charlotte Schaller in 1997; a grandson, Christopher Durscher in 1986; sons-in-law, Ken Flaskerud and John Heffron; sisters, M. Eileen (Robert) Conrad, and Imogene (Ray) Stoffel; two brothers, Louis "Sonny" Hagerty, and Melvin (Colette) Hagerty.

A Mary C. Stoffel memorial fund has been established.
