Mary S. van der Woude-Hill, 89 of Catlett, Virginia, died peacefully on Friday, February 5, 2021 at her home, following a short illness.

Born in the Netherlands on September 3, 1931 Mary immigrated to America in 1953 with her late, former husband, Dr. Harmen van der Woude. Mary will now be reunited with her husband, James Hill in St. Joseph Cemetery in Farley, Iowa.

Mary is survived by her children, Susan, Harmen, Nandine, and Matthew; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Mary was a librarian in California before she relocated to Catlett, Virginia, where she lived out her passion with her Nubian goats. She was very involved and dedicated to the goat milk business.

Due to COVID, a private graveside service will be held in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery on Wednesday February 17, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. where she will be laid to rest next to her husband, James.  The Reiff Funeral Home in Farley, Iowa is assisting the family.
