Melanie Phillips, 64, of Dyersville, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2023, at Mercy One Dyersville, Iowa.

Visitation for Melanie will be held from 3 to 7 p.m., on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at the Reiff Funeral Home in Dyersville, Iowa, where the Dyersville Fire Department and the Bi-County EMS Department will meet in a body, and services for Melanie will be held at 7:00 p.m., with Rev. Chris Podhajsky presiding.

Melanie was born on October 14, 1958, in Waterloo, Iowa, daughter of Richard J. And Grace (Derga) Neuzil.  She was a 1976 graduate of Beckman High School in Dyersville, Iowa.  She was united in marriage to Loras Phillips on October 9, 1976, at the Basilica St. Francis Xavier in Dyersville, Iowa.

Melanie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who truly enjoyed spending her time with her family especially her grandchildren.  She also loved to garden and feed the birds.

She was a member of the Basilica St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Dyersville, Iowa.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Loras Phillips of Dyersville,  three children,  Jason (Jill) Phillips of Dyersville, Brandi (Chris) Pasker of New Vienna, and Robbie (Emily) Phillips of Dyersville, nine grandchildren, Caleb (Fenyx), Carter, Cole, and Hannah Phillips,  Evan and Tessa Pasker, Maddox, Ivy, and Boone Phillips; two great grandchildren, Bentley and Aurora Phillips; her mother, Grace Neuzil of Dyersville, five siblings, Dean (Vickie) Neuzil of Lakeville, MN, Melissa (Larry) Their of Dyersville, Mary Neuzil of Coralville, Doug (Sue) Neuzil of Hopkinton,  and Mandi (Brady) McDonald of Cedar Rapids; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mary Schulte of Dubuque,  Janet Phillips of Dubuque, Diann (Dan) Michels of Marion,  Larry (Jan) Phillips of Peosta and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her father, Richard Neuzil, one brother, Dennis Neuzil; father and mother-in-law, Arthur F. And Dorothy (Heisler) Phillips; brother-in-law, Robert Schulte.
