Michael D. Hunter, 71 of Iowa City, Iowa and formerly of Monticello and Anamosa, Iowa, passed away Sunday, June 18, 2023, at the Iowa City Nursing and Rehab in Iowa City, Iowa.

Services for Michael will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Monday, June 26, 2023, at the Reiff Funeral Home in Cascade, Iowa, with Deacon Joe Schockemoehl presiding.  Burial will be held in the Cascade Community Cemetery.

He was born August 15, 1951, in Jacksonville, Florida, son of Joseph E. and Mary (Topping) Hunter.  He received his education at Monticello High School.

He is survived by two sisters, Mary Jo (Gary) Richardson of Cedar Rapids, IA and Phyllis Hunter of Houston, TX; and three brothers, John Hunter of Cedar Rapids, IA, Ron (Nancy) Hunter of Watertown, MN, and Mark Hunter of Omaha, NE; a sister-in-law, Donna Hunter of Cedar Rapids; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Joseph and Mary Hunter and a brother, Phillip Hunter.
