Robert J. McKenna, 82, of Bernard, Iowa, passed away, Sunday, December 3, 2023 at his home in Bernard, Iowa.

The family will greet friends from 9:00  to 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Garryowen, Iowa, where a memorial mass for Robert will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Garryowen, Iowa.  He will be buried at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Garryowen with full military honors afforded by the Cascade American Legion Post #528.

He was born August 17, 1941 in Maquoketa, Iowa, son of Lawrence and Florence (Donovan) McKenna.  He received his education in the St. Patrick's School in Garryowen, Iowa.  He was an Army Veteran, having served from 1963 to 1965.  He farmed in the rural Bernard area.

He was a member of St. Patrick's Parish in Garryowen, Iowa, and a member of the Cascade American Legion-Post #528.

He is survived by two sisters, Rosemary (Joe) Staner of Cascade, IA and Janet Siegert of Dubuque, IA; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and a brother-in-law, William Siegert in Dec. 2022.
