Rosella C. Heims White, 91, formerly of Worthington passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 2:40 a.m. at Shady Rest Care Center in Cascade, Iowa.
Friends and relatives of Rosella may call from 2 to 7 p.m., Sunday, March 12, 2017 at the Reiff Funeral Home in Dyersville, Iowa, where the Farley American Legion will meet in a body at 4:30 p.m., the Dyersville Fire Department will also meet in a body at 6:00 p.m. and a wake service will be held at 7:00 p.m.. Friends may also call after 9 a.m., on Monday, March 13, 2017 at the funeral home.
Services for Rosella will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 13, 2017 at the Basilica of St. Francis Xavier in Dyersville, Iowa, with Rev. Dennis Quint officiating. Burial will be held in St. Paul's Cemetery in Worthington, Iowa.
She was born on July 30, 1925 in Luxemburg, Iowa daughter of Frank and Mary Langel. She received her education at Holy Trinity School in Luxemburg.
On September 23, 1947 she was united in marriage to Edmund Heims. He preceded her in death on November 9, 1968. She later married Gerald White, on February 9, 1973 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Worthington. He preceded her in death on January 14, 1993. They retired from farming and moved to Dyersville in August 1987. They traveled extensively in the U.S. till Gerry's death.
She was a member of the Resurrection Choir and Order of Marthas for many years, helped keep the House of God clean at the Basilica. She also enjoyed bowling for many years, genealogy, playing cards, dominos, crocheting and spending time with family.
She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Parish in Dyersville.
She is survived by her four sons, Ronald (Connie), Alan (Debra) and Leonard (Joyce) of Dyersville, Dennis (Jane) of Worthington, and one daughter, Edna McLaughlin of Rockford, Illinois; a sister, Barbara Frazen of California and 3 sisters-in-law, Alice Langel of Dyersville, Germaine Langel of Guttenberg and Ruth Welch of Nevada; 17 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 2 stepdaughters, Colleen (Terry) Boffeli of Farley, and Geri (Bill) Wagner of Dyersville; 6 step-sons, Bob (Nancy), Randy (Shirley) of Dyersville, Don (Melanie) of Sherrill, Dennis I(Debbie) of Browntown, MN, Jim (Ann) of Coralville, IA and Phil (Delia) of Waverly, IL; 24 step grandchildren; 36 step great grandchildren.
She is also preceded in death by three brothers, Joseph (Marilyn), John and Francis and 2 sisters, Marie (Pete) Berns and Agnes (Lawrence) Heims; a stepson, Ronnie N. White; a step grandson, Jason White.
