Ruth M. Greenwood, 74, of Farley, Iowa passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at Ennoble Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Dubuque, Iowa.

Visitation for Ruth will be held for 8 a.m. to Noon on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at the Reiff Funeral Home in Farley, Iowa, where services will be held at Noon with Deacon Nick Elliott presiding. Burial will be held in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Farley with full military honors afforded by the Epworth American Legion Post #650.

Ruth was born March 30, 1951, in Dubuque, daughter of Wesley and Ruth (Mills) Davis.  Ruth was united in marriage on January 16, 1971, to Carl H. Greenwood at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dubuque, Iowa.  Together the couple farmed in the rural Farley area for many years.  He preceded her in death on June 7, 2023.  She also worked at A.Y. McDonald and Lowes in Dubuque for many years.

She was a devoted member of St. Joseph's parish in Farley, Iowa.  Ruth was a Veteran having served in the United States Air Force.  She was an avid bowler having bowled in a league in the Air Force and in Farley for many years.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her aunts and was a social butterfly who truly enjoyed socializing with others.  She also liked to drive around to see the countryside.

Ruth is survived by her three children, Dawn (Greg) Honts, and Terry (Heidi) Greenwood both of Farley, and Carl (Vicki) Greenwood Jr. of Epworth; seven grandchildren, Claudia (Christian) Garrett, John (Carley) Greenwood and Luke Greenwood, Gregory and Carl Honts, Dylan Johnson, and Tyler (Jenna) Johnson; four great grandchildren, Audrey and Owen Garrett, Leighton Johnson, and Henry Greenwood; ten siblings, Gene Davis, of Brookfield, WI, Robert (Becky Pfau) Davis, of Malibu, CA, Dennis Davis of Yuba City, CA, Wayne (Lee) Davis, of Lompoc, CA, Daryl Davis, of Ewing, VA, Linda (Peter) So, of Pittsburg, CA,  John Davis, of Ewing, CA, Debra Davis, of Dubuque, Jayne Davis, of Yuba City, CA, and Mary (Gary) Kreutz, of North Ridge, CA; sister-in-law, Mary Davis of Dubuque and Chris Davis of North Hills, CA; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Wesley J. Davis Jr., Terry Davis, Matthew P. Davis Sr. and Todd Davis; father and mother-in-law, Vincent and Victoria (Heid) Greenwood Sr.; brother-in-law, Vincent Greenwood.
