Terry J. Breitbach, 72, of Epworth, Iowa, passed away on August 15, 2026 in Benton, Missouri, on the way home from the family’s Orange Beach Vacation.
Visitation for Terry will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at the Reiff Funeral Home in Epworth, Iowa, where a prayer service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Visitation will also be held from 9 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at the funeral home.
Services for Terry will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2026. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Epworth, Iowa.
He was born August 5, 1954 in Corona, California son of Carl and Joan [Hannan] Breitbach at a US Naval Hospital, Corona. When he was younger, his mother was his best friend. Terry received his education in the Epworth schools and is a graduate of St. Joseph’s High School in Farley, Iowa. On September 6, 1975, he was united in marriage to Ann M. Wolf at St. Clement’s Catholic Church in Bankston, Iowa.
He was an Oil Salesman for Rainbow Oil for years, until retiring in 2021. He was very humble and quiet. In a group he could be counted on for some of his off the cuff one liners, that would catch everyone by surprise. He had a very relaxed personality, and lived life “Day by Day”. One of his favorite quotes being “It is, what it is”. He was an animal lover, and liked music especially the oldies and the 70’s.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Breitbach of Epworth; two children, Ted Breitbach [special friend, Katie Koch] of Amarillo, TX and Alyssa [Geoff] Oyen of Peosta, IA; three grandchildren, Lia, Landyn, and Lainy all at home; three siblings, Tim [Jill]Breitbach of Norwalk, Tom [Bonnie] Breitbach of Dubuque, and Tami [Dan “Spike”] Conzett of Peosta; Brothers and sisters-in-laws, Grace [Marv] Stoffel of Dubuque, Bill [Linda] Wolf of Epworth, Donna [Phillip] Cottingham of Ankeny, Rosie Hanson of Dubuque, Rick [JoAnne] Wolf of Delhi, Mike Wolf of Delhi, Dave [Julie] Wolf of Dubuque, Lynn [Mike]Thill of Dubuque, Tom [Sharon] Wolf of Durango, Rita [Jim] Lupkes of Centennial, CO, Ed Wolf of Epworth, Joe [Rhonda] Wolf of Epworth, Laurie [Jamie] Barger of Stoughton, WI.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Teddy Breitbach; his parents-in-law, Peter “Joe” and Jeanette Wolf; and a sister-in-law, Kay Wolf.
