Theresa M. McDowell, 57, of Cascade, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa.

The family will have a visitation from 10 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at the Reiff funeral Home in Cascade, Iowa, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Deacon Raymond Noonan presiding. A Private burial will be held in St. Paul’s Cemetery in Worthington, Iowa.

She was born October 27, 1968, in Manchester, Iowa, daughter of Janice (Jaeger) Staner. She is a graduate of Maquoketa Valley High School. She served in the Dietary department for the Western Dubuque School District, where she also worked as a Para-professional. She later worked at McDermott Oil Company in Cascade.

Theresa treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren, creating special memories by taking them to different parks, playing with them and simply enjoying their company. She also cherished the time she shared with Al, together they enjoyed attending car shows, traveling throughout the United States, and making memories along the way. Their beloved dog, Molly, was an important part of their lives and brought them much joy and companionship.

She is survived by her significant other, Al Felton of Cascade, IA; two children, Amanda McDowell and Brittany (Shawn) Carroll Jr. both of Dubuque, IA; three grandchildren, Isabelle, Skyla and Jack; seven siblings, Dave (Terri) Staner of Earlville, IA, Jean (Stacey) Sherburne of Kesley, Lynne (Rick) Hillebrand of Cedar Rapids, IA, Judy Staner of Earlville, IA, Vicky (Todd) Salow of Washington, IA, Nancy Ross of Shawnee, KS and Karen (Dick) Lahr of Onslow, IA.

She is preceded in death by her mother; one son, Dylan McDowell on April 1, 2001; and two sisters, Sharon Staner in infancy and Kim Staner at age five.
