Torin Frederick Hartbecke, the thirteen month old infant son of Seth and Michelle Hartbecke from Cascade, Iowa passed into God's loving arms Friday, September 9, 2016 at 5:56 a.m. at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, Iowa.

Friends and relatives may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Reiff Funeral Home in Cascade, Iowa where prayer services will be held at 2:30 p.m.

A Mass of the Angels will be held for Torin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 15, 2016 at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Cascade, Iowa with the Reverend Douglas Loecke presiding. Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Cascade, Iowa.

Torin was born August 13, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque, Iowa. He is best remembered by his hearty laugh and infectious smile. His mastery of the "Hartbecke Effect" turned many tears into peals of laughter. Though Torin has passed on from this world early, his memory will live on as his heart, liver, and kidneys gave others a new chance at life. A two month old baby boy will have a new heart, a seven month old baby girl will have a new liver, and a sixty-six year old man will have new kidneys. Through these gifts, Torin has shared his happiness and love for life with others.

He is survived by his parents, Seth and Michelle Hartbecke of Cascade, Iowa; two brothers, Jaren and Ronan; maternal grandparents, Thomas and Jill Jones of Cascade, Iowa; paternal grandparents, Fred and Kathy Hartbecke of Epworth, Iowa; maternal great-grandparents, Reverend Willis and Joanne Jones of Montrose, CO; aunts and uncles, Travis and Corey Hartbecke both of Dubuque, Iowa, Joshua Jones of Cascade, Iowa, and Melody (Sean) Heber of Dubuque, Iowa.

Torin is preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents, Herb and Doris Jespersen; paternal great-grandparents, Lois and Elray Hartbecke, and Calvin and Irene Taft.

In lieu of flower a Torin F. Hartbecke memorial fund has been established.
