Ty W. Kronlage, 21, of Epworth, Iowa passed away on October 6, 2023 in Epworth, Iowa.

Friends and relatives of Ty may call from 3 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at the Reiff Funeral Home in Epworth, Iowa, where a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m.  Visitation will also be held after 9 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Services for Ty will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at St. John's Catholic Church in Placid, Iowa.  Burial will be held in St. Johns Cemetery in Placid, Iowa.

He was born August 20, 2002 in Dubuque, Iowa son of Russell and Jodi (Strief) Kronlage.  He is a graduate of Western Dubuque High School in Epworth, Iowa.

Since graduation, Ty has been employed at Top Grade Excavating, with a crew he calls family.  His strong work ethic is evident through his willingness to tackle any task without complaint, showcasing his dedication and pride.  It's known that Ty's heart lies in farming, a tradition that runs in his family.  His dream was to one day own an acreage and raise a small herd of cattle.

Ty lived a selfless, simple, and fun filled life, prioritizing the needs of others ahead of his own.  Being known as an "adopted" son to many families speaks to the impact he had on the lives of those around him.  His "happy place" was being outdoors, farming, hunting, and spending time with his friends.  Ty was an old soul who spread his love and respect to friends of all ages.  Despite being a person of few words, his fantastic wit, cocky smirk, and casual one-liners left everyone smiling and laughing.  As Ty would say, "You wanna do something," "Er" What?"

He was a member of St. John's  Catholic Church in Placid, Iowa.

He is survived by his parents, Russell and Jodi Kronlage; a brother Derek Strief and a sister, Kiara Kronlage both of Epworth, IA; his godson, Zayden Strief; his grandmother, Donna Strief of Farley, IA; his grandfather, Donald "Krunch" Kronlage of Epworth,Iowa; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Susan Kronlage; his grandfather, William "Bill" Strief; his step-grandmother, Cathy Kronlage; two uncles, Michael J. Strief and Martin Strief.

Ty's family encourages spreading kindness and love, everyone is battling something.

In lieu of flowers, a portion of memorials will be donated for Mental Health Awareness and Suicide prevention.
