Virginia M. "Ginny" Ressler, 75, of Cascade, Iowa passed away Friday, January 18, 2019 at Hallmark Care Center in Mount Vernon, Iowa, surrounded by her family.

Friends and relatives of Ginny may call from 3 to 8 p.m. , Monday, January 21, 2019 at the Reiff Funeral Home in Cascade, Iowa, where a wake service will be held at 2:30 p.m.  Friends may also call after 9 a.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Services for Ginny will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Cascade, Iowa with Rev. Douglas Loecke officiating. Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Cascade, Iowa.

She was born April 1, 1943 in Monticello, Iowa, daughter of Elmer and Violet (Rahe) O'Shea.   She is a graduate of the former Aquin High School in Cascade, Iowa.  She is also a graduate of Kirkwood Community College, where she received her LPN Degree.  She was employed as a LPN at Mercy Hospital in Dubuque for several years.   On November 14, 1964 she was united in marriage to John Ressler at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Cascade, Iowa.

She was a member of St. Matthias Parish in Cascade and a member of TEAM HOPE.

She is survived by her husband, John Ressler of Cascade, IA; seven children, Tim (Melissa) Ressler of Solon, IA, Jacob (Jill) Ressler of Swisher, IA, Missy (Jose) Torres of Cedar Rapids, IA, Marty (Sarah) Ressler of Solon, IA, Chris Ressler of Ely, IA, Tony (Jen) Ressler of Independence, IA, and Andrea "Annie" (David) Lamont of Cedar Rapids, IA; 19 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and 3 sisters, Mary (Paul) Ehlinger, Carol Recker and Susie (Dave) Kraus all of Cascade, IA.

She is preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Sr. Janet O'Shea; and a brother-in-law, Ronald Recker; one niece, Paula Ehlinger; and one nephew, Mike Recker.
